clean eating, day 6

Day 6: Monday, April 8



Breakfast:
-banana protein pancakes with apple butter and banana slices

Lunch:
-mixed greens and spinach salad with chicken breast, chickpeas, parmesan cheese, green pepper, and green onion
-1/2 cup cottage cheese
-1 clementine
-hard boiled egg

Snack: (not pictured)
-homemade "clean" banana, peanut butter, oatmeal cookies
-almonds

Dinner:
-shakshuka with feta and a poached egg
-"clean" homemade naan

Obviously shakshuka is something we eat a lot around here as it got its very own post. So, it was nice to be able to have a recipe we often enjoy without having to make any changes/ substitutions to be "clean." However, we did opt to use an entirely new naan recipe as opposed to making substitutions to our go-to recipe. The clean recipe wasn't as tasty as our normal (surprise, surprise), but the dough did not have to rise, which makes it ideal for making on a weeknight, and, most importantly, it still tasted good to us. I can say with certainty we will be using the new "clean" naan recipe in the future.
